Description

The R&D Helium Loop Anorak is a world-first proof of concept that demonstrates the potential for down-insulated garments to be designed for circularity. It features Smart Stitch™, a heat-dissolvable thread that allows for easy material separation at the product's end-of-life, enabling the down and material membrane to be recycled individually.

It's only a proof of concept, but super cool to see. A big challenge with the circularity outdoor apparel is often disassembly, and these 'smart stitches' seek to ameliorate that by melting in controlled conditions. Cool stuff from Peak.
